How can I use this topic?

I'm supposed to do a 5-8 minute persuasive speech in my speech class on a topic of my choosing. However, I'm not supposed to change the topic any more because the speech that we did last (definition and opposing viewpoints, but no actual persuasion) is when we had to pick the topic.



I like my topic, I stated how some people believe that laws should be enforced in a black %26amp; white manner and others believe that they should be enforced with some discretion by the police officer. This particular topic (letter of the law vs spirit of the law) is meaningful to me because I work as a Park Ranger for a huge place and we have to enforce rules and laws. My plan is to persuade the spirit of the law vs. the letter of the law and I have a couple of my own examples. One example I already gave in my previous speech is an employee parking in a handicapped spot at 11pm when nobody is around to run in and get a forgotten wallet and they come out to a ticket. This is frustrating to many people and it does not represent the true reason the handicapped laws were written (because nobody can go to the business anyways as it is has been closed and dark for 6 hours).



But the thing is, we're supposed to provide statistics and expert testimony for this speech and this isn't something I can just Google and find results. I can barely even find results in my school's criminology databases. I didn't want this to discourage me because I figure school is about going down paths others haven't and I got a real good grade on my first speech saying my teacher liked my topic. Problem is, I don't know where to go from here...

What topic should I choose for my globalization paper?

I want to write about how globalization negatively impacts the environment, but it does so in many ways (loss in biodiversity, ecological degradation, air and water pollution, global warming, deforestation, ozone layer depletion, soil erosion, etc...). So since my topic of discussion contains many subtopics, this paper would be too cumbersome for me (the length of the paper should only be about 5-7 pages).

Therefore, do you have any suggestions on what I should do?

Should I completely change my topic, or should I narrow my topic (such as how globalization promotes deforestation). But I feel like if I narrow my topic, I'll be missing important information in my essay. Help!

I am writing a speech about humor and why we should have more in the world. I've written it about 4 times but every time I try reciting it it always come out wrong, kind of half soppy half jumbled ideas and I can't seem to change topics, please help!

Try Humorous stories to catch their attention and erase the boredom of speeching...than start it off with the everyday happening of ordinary peoples lives as an example...something that we could say could happen to anybody thats seems to be interesting and then dont beat around the bush go straight to yur topics.

You need to start off with an outline. Think of it like writing a paper for a class. You need a %26quot;thesis%26quot;, in your case it's humor, then you just need to build it from there. It's not easy to write a good speech, but with an outline behind, it can make things a lot easier. Good luck :)

Ok. My biology teacher is making us do self study projects. I chose one topic (how leaves change colors) I wanted to do the northern lights, but she is making us take our own pictures. I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. The project is due on the 8th. We HAVE to have OUR OWN pics though. so anyway, I changed my topic. My new topic the the science behind snow (Yes I understand that the topic is kinda lame) but I can't really find anything! Anyone who can help please do. Snow is just rain that is frozen to a certain point. When it is in cloud form, technically it is snow but when it rains it melts by the time it gets to the ground. But, if it is cold enough it stays frozen and when it falls it is snow. Hope I helped. I recomend that you double check my information before you use it. I am not positive, but there is definetally some truth to what I said. Hope you get a good grade.

The idea behind debate practise is that you learn how to enumerate the talking points by yourself as far as is practical.



I'll give you a few pointers to get you started, but you should be able to do this on your own and be able to expand upon them depending on where you want to go with your argument.



Think about what %26quot;better%26quot; means in terms of lifestyle. The definition of %26quot;better%26quot; tends to be a very subjective thing, so it would be worth spending time defining what it could mean while also presenting your points. Does it mean:



More disposable income (are people / organisations able to use computers to make money, can they save money in anyway i.e. do they lower the total cost of a process, or do they struggle to pay for themselves in productivity terms)?



More enjoyment of life (do computers provide any new experiences that are enjoyable, do the experiences made possible detract from any other previously available experiences)?



Less problems in life (do computers cause problems for people, or do they solve problems - are there any specific groups or types of people who benefit from computers more or less than others)?



It's worth bearing in mind that the computer originated as a scientific tool first and only relatively recently has it seen use as a vector for entertainment with the accompanying influx of amateur users.

Why is it my GF is not believing that i dont have female friends at all.She is so surprised?

I m 20 and she is the first girl in my life.I never even had female friends before.Last night she was checking my mobile and the only women's number she found were of my mom,sisters and my cousins.Ever since she cant believe it and she cant change the topic.How can i make her believe and why is she not believing me.Is there something wrong that i dont have female friends?

No. My boyfriend used to have female friends but he wasn't interested in being friends with them when he started going out with me which is a good thing for me because I get jealous easily. Your girlfriend is probably happy that she's the only girl in your life because I'm happy that I'm the only girl in my boyfriend's life :)

There's nothing wrong... it's just that usually, a lot of guys do have at least some, if not many, female friends... And very rare don't have any at all. Like for girls for an example, I have a little bit more male friends than female friends, even though the amount of female and male friends I have are of about equal. And I don't think I have ever known a girl who does not have a male friend. Neither have I known a guy without a female friend... You know, since the world is split into two different gender - meaning that it is made up of about 50% of each gender, it is easy to conclude that you would at least make friends with a female...since there are so many females out there.



But it's not bad, it's just the friends you chose to have and you have the rights to chose your friends :)
