My friend started a college level business class today and the professor asked what country makes Chevrolet. Every body in the class answered

He said it was wrong and changed topic.

The professor is wrong. Chevrolet is made by General Motors in the US. The prof might be trying to be cute in asking where components of the car are made and many of them come from various places in Asia and/or Sout America and Mexico

I don't know what country makes Chevy, but the head quarters is in America. For all I know they make Chevy's in Mexico for cheap labour.

The parts are made in Mexico, but they are assembled in the USA. There are some assembly plants in Mexico as well. This technically makes Chevy an import even though they are considered domestic.
It depends on the particular vehicle. Some are manufactured in Mexico, some are Manufactured and designed in South Korea by General Motors-Daewoo (like the Chevy Aveo).
Alhough some cars are still made in the U.S. this trend is in a decline.

I could not find anything about Chevorlets being made anywhere other than the U.S. I am quite certain that many of their parts are made in foreign countries. Maybe that is what the professor means.
