Should I just ask the people working there if I can use it??

Should I change my Philosophy topic so my professor does not get emotional?
I was given an assignment where I have to analyze thyself and apply ethics and moral to my topic.
I love reading books. So, I decided to write about that. I am reading %26quot;The Memory Keeper%26#039;s Daughter%26quot;.
In this book, the husband gives away his little daughter because she was born with Down Syndrome. Should he have done that? Should he have lied to his wife and tell her the girl died right after she was born?
I think not!, that is my topic here. So my professor told me HE WOULD NOT READ MY PAPER BECAUSE HIS SON DIED ONE MONTH BEFORE 15.
Do you guys think it is fair? My paper is due tomorrow and I am almost done with it. I do not have time to change topic.
Is he right? Am I wrong?
I need advice.

But the thing I don%26#039;t get is that the professor did ask for a theme about %26quot;thyself%26quot;. That means YOU. It could be said that you are responding to a different request that the professor did not make.|||I guess since you don%26#039;t have time to write a new one, you might as well turn this one in. If he gives you a lot of beef, just take it to someone higher than him (principal, dean, etc). Do so, also, if he gives you a grade you don%26#039;t think you deserved.
Good luck!|||I would ask him if he could ask a colleague to grade it since it%26#039;s such a difficult topic for him. If he refuses then you%26#039;re in a bit of a spot. Doing a report on a book when given an assignment about YOU is not really the correct thing for you to do.

What's a nice way of saying "I don't care" and changing the subject?
Ugh, I%26#039;ve fallen into so many conversations where I JUST DON%26#039;T CARE about the topic at all and I just sit there nodding. Then they say, %26quot;You%26#039;re so boring%26quot; and go do something else because I never give a **** to respond to what they%26#039;re saying.
I%26#039;m not trying to say that I don%26#039;t like talking to people, but I just want to know how to change topics unabruptly, so they don%26#039;t feel like they%26#039;re being cut-off in the middle of their story.

I am writing a college level research paper and the information on the topic is through the library and online.
The problem is that I got to pick the topic and I know nothing about this subject so I am learning from the resources. The problem is I can%26#039;t have 20 resources or more and I will have to paraphrase a ton.
I can%26#039;t change topics but I am not knowledgeable about the subject except from my resources. How do I make my paper my own without using a lot of outside resources. Do not rely on people you know well. There is an odd thing in my neighborhood - the Hmong people do plant their vegetables, including fresh mustard greens. The African American people across the street buy their mustard greens from the supermarket. If I could get the African American people to grow their own fresh mustard greens, they could use that money towards paying off their debts or buying more fresh fruits and vegetables at the fruit stand here in town. It%26#039;s not a big idea, but it certainly is a start!

What is a really touchy topic for you?
Like if someone brings it up you try to change the topic really fast|||I don%26#039;t like talking about my family problems, especially where my father is concerned. We never got along really well. He is very opinionated, judgmental and negative. I moved out of his house almost 10 years ago and never looked back. I hardly deal with him anymore. And I hate when people try to tell me that I need to bury the hatchet and deal with him for the sake of family. And I hate when people try to tell me that I need to bury the hatchet and deal with her for the sake of family and because she%26#039;ll always be my sister and I will someday want her in my life. I just tell them to shut the hell up and stop trying to tell me how to live my life. I don%26#039;t want her in my life and from years ago to forevermore she isn%26#039;t wanted in my life.
In fact I recently flew to California from Washington with my dad for a weekend to go to my Uncle%26#039;s wedding and no one told me she was gonna be there so when she showed up I freaked and went out on the lower deck and started like going bezerk, my dad wasn%26#039;t even there and hadn%26#039;t told me she was coming, I called my best friend and my mother and both told me to behave, be civil, be nice and say hi. So I hung up on my best friend and told my mom i had to go cause my dad was looking for me(I had just snuck off when no one was looking), got in trouble from my dad and started screaming at him no one could hear it though. Both my best friend and my mom know how explosive I can be especially around the troll people call my sister and I%26#039;m not particularly friendly to people who annoy me let alone to those I hate. So anyway I kept having to go by her so I just took a bunch of my stuff outside and pretty much hid out and was crying but I didn%26#039;t want people to see cause I hate showing weakness, and I never cry so that%26#039;s saying something. Then my dad kept coming out and getting mad and yelling and I was ignoring him so he got madder and I called my mom for a bit every time he left and hung up everytime that he came back cause me talking to her was making him madder. So then we went to the wedding and I had fun on the dance floor for hours with my family and she just sat there and then got all the attention when people lifted her up in her chair and brought her out, then she said ok i%26#039;ll dance if my dad does so he did!!!!! He didn%26#039;t even dance with my mom or his first wife at their weddings, and he%26#039;s never danced with me at alllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I got even pissed-er and my new cousin stopped me from going over there and making my sister%26#039;s entrails her outrails and making her outrails her new entrails. Then the next day right before we had to leave my new cousin came over and informed me that i was going to ride with her and my dad for two hours to the airport. So I got really hurt, pissed, and really extremely volatilely angry. So I said I don%26#039;t care how long we stay what happens, or if we miss our flight i%26#039;m not going with her adn after an hour of fighting and kicking and screaming my uncle offered to take us cause he could see how upset we were when he showed up at his house after spending the night at a hotel with his new wife and saw me getting screamed out by my dad and then screaming back and walking in and slamming the door. I hated it and then when we got home, I have been getting depressed a bit and angry and pissed at the littlest things. I don%26#039;t know what%26#039;s wrong with me.

Broaching the topic of changing my given name to my family.?
I%26#039;m considering changing my first name, as all my life I%26#039;ve never felt comfortable with it. My father went behind my mums back after my birth while she was in the hospital, and filed my birth certificate without her because they couldn%26#039;t agree on a name. The name he gave me has never felt like it was mine, and I%26#039;ve never liked it. Mum died a decade ago, so her reaction isn%26#039;t an issue, but my father will be absolutely heartbroken. If I were to change it, it wouldn%26#039;t be to anything too different from my own, and my family would still be able to call me what they wished, but legally, and to anyone new I met, I would use my new, preferred name. How do I bring this topic up with my father in a way that he won%26#039;t feel guilty?|||Well, I would sit him down in the living room and tell him you have to talk to him, which should get his attention. Then I would start off with, %26quot;Remember when...%26quot; or something like that, and repeat the story, which he should recognize anyway. When you%26#039;re finished, I would say, %26quot;Well, since Mom died...%26quot; and tell him your decision. Discuss it openly, make sure neither of you makes accusations and you both stay calm. If you can%26#039;t, I would leave and bring it up another time and do the same thing until you can both listen and talk to each other.

I am doing a Math extended essay. My topic is 'when will comet Halley stop orbiting the sun'?
.I am using a mathematical model to demonstrate this (ellipses in polar coordinates).What I am worried about is that I am using some concepts of physics as well i.e. Kepler%26#039;s laws, Einstien%26#039;s mass energy equation, Kinetic energy and the law of gravitation. I need to write an informative speech for class that has to be 4-6 minutes long... I%26#039;m thinking of writing it on the topic %26quot;Changing your own oil is easy%26quot; do you think this is a good topic that I can make at least 4 minutes out of?|||4 minutes easy. Excellent topic. Just add in a few safety points with each step. If you need more material, throw in some price comparisons with quick lubes and auto dealers and the cost savings. What are good topics concerning homosexaulity?
For my English Compstion class, we have to write a 12 page final paper about a topic of our choice. It%26#039;s too late to change topics, and I have chosen to discuss homosexuality. I%26#039;ve already read two memoirs written by gay people and a few other scholarly articles. My problem is that my topic is so broad. Do you have any ideas as to how I could narrow my topic? I wanted to discuss the causes of homosexuality, but my teacher thought that it would be inappropiate. What do you think?|||it depends on how much deep you go on the subjects if its going to be innapropiate. i mean some homosexual people dont really have a cause but others do..like if they were abused when they were infants.

There is no proven theory or cause for homosexuality, but there is certainly a lot of information about different theories for the cause. I wouldn%26#039;t say the topic is inappropriate if you respect both sides of an arguement, but then again, i wouldnt go against what your teacher says. Another idea might be the gay marriage, but that is a very common topic, but there is a lot of info on that too. Another idea could be maybe talk about the stereotypes that people have of gay people. Just ideas, just throwing some out there.|||I think it would be interesting to find out the discrimination and the similarities and differences to African American discrimination before the Civil Rights Act|||This might be a little extra work, but a less controversial (and opinion-filled) topic could be the history of homosexuality. Many people mistakenly believe that homosexuality is something %26quot;new,%26quot; when same-sex sexual attraction has actually been documented for hundreds of years. With less work, you could also discuss the gay rights/PRIDE movement in the United States.
Of course, another interesting topic could be all of the psychology studies being conducted on the gay and lesbian couples raising children (you might be surprised by the results).

If it enters a glacial time, then the humna population would suffer dramatically as food supply would dwindle and most northern countries would cease to exist (hard to survive underneath a glacier).
As far as our response, the same people claiming global warming would again blame society and require massive taxes to solve the problem. Of course, like AGW, we can do nothing about it and the taxes would be used to expand government and do next to nothing for the people.|||That Crazy guy is right.

How do I stop my mom from changing the conversation?
My mom has a bad habit of changing the conversation whenever I just want to talk to her about something such as buying a new pair of shoes on the internet, or some other small issue. Whenever I talk about something I%26#039;m needing or wanting, she tends to go way out of the topic, talking about something else that%26#039;s completely unrelated and irrelevant (such as my grades, my tasks, cell phone, etc. Even though I do all those).
She feels that she has the authority to change the conversation just to get out of something, or just for the heck of it. Those are what have been going on with me. I%26#039;m a 19 yrs old female :)
- For quite a while now I have been feeling very sleepy at inappropriate time during the day (during class, while walking on the treadmill, while taking shower(?!?!?!?) I wonder if this is narcolepsy?
- I had been woken up about 3 times at night, each for about 3 secs then I went right back to sleep. The pattern was: 2 times when it%26#039;s still dark and 1 time when sun started to rise. This have been happening for few weeks.
- I feel super hyper at some times, then feel down at another. I always been having issue with paying attention, but it%26#039;s getting worse lately.
- When I talk or chatting on messenger, people do notice that I change topic a lot and rapidly. I have the urge of talking and can%26#039;t wait for others to give me the snail-speed reply.
I wonder if my REM sleep is disruptive and causing all these? I%26#039;m absolutely annoyed with the sleepy issue, I can%26#039;t get my mind clear to complete anything. Any suggestion on medications or changing of habit?

What is the history of hurdles races? How was it invented?
I need to write a track and field paper and i can%26#039;t seem to find that out. Changing topics is out of the question becuase the topic is assigned.|||OK - I%26#039;m not 100% sure that the hurdles were a direct descendant from the Steeplechase - but I think that it is fair to say that it is. In that case, the Steeplechase (track event with fixed, high hurdles and a water jump) originated in England where competitors would run Cross-country from one church to another - hence Steeple to steeple. Obviously they had to jump over the farm fences on the way.

It is evident, however, that he or she is trying to evade your question or does not want to talk about what you are talking about or is simply not listening to you because they have their own agenda. Everybody is guilty about what you are talking about every now and then, but when the problem becomes habitual, then I would suggest you confront that person and ask them why they are always changing the subject and that you find it particularly bothersome. Sometimes people are not even aware of what they are doing and a little reality check by you might help.|||Rude. Please help me with my Resistance to Change topic for Reading class?
Can someone please help me out, I have trouble coming up with an example for the topic resistance to change. It%26#039;s for a barriers project that I have to do for my Reading 120 class. Change is mainly:
1. More ecology conscious.
2. Commercialization on increase
3. Family is nuclear; so stress on friends increasing.
4. People prefer parties outside home rather than in houses
5. Less oil lamps; more electrical lighting
this should be enough to develop on.

Is this a good plot, or is it boring? Any ideas to make it better without changing the topic too much?
am writing a book, about a girl who%26#039;s parents are murdered when she is three. She soon gets sent to family members who don%26#039;t really want her. Soon the girl recieves the gift of seeing the dead. She also has a friend who%26#039;s she%26#039;s known since the first grade. The boy who is her friend likes her but she is too focused on another guy who is much more popular to notice that. So it%26#039;ll be like a Horror/Romance book.|||I like the plot, you%26#039;ll hook the reader with murder at the beginning and her ability will keep the reader interested. But i think you need to give it a big climax to make it really amazing. I really like Avatar%26#039;s idea, that would throw the reader off, and make it interesting. Although i think it would be better if the parents were killed for a reason. Maybe because they had powers as well, and whoever killed them is trying to exterminate everyone with paranormal powers. So through-out the story you could have you character being stalked by her parents murderer because he wants to finish the job.

And her best friend has powers too.|||not really my interest but it is a really good plot though.|||The idea sounds good but I just wanted to point out the similarity to the Harry Potter series - a child is orphaned at a young age and sent to live with relatives who do not want them, then they discover they have special abilities. If it doesn%26#039;t bother you, it doesn%26#039;t bother me, but it%26#039;s something you should be aware of.
