Please describe a time when someone used ineffective listening behavior while you were trying to talk to them?

(For example, selective listening;eavesdropping;pretending like they were listening to you;aggressive listening or narcissistic- changing the topic back to them ,or what they wanted to talk about.)Please define the ineffective listening technique they were using and how you reacted. Did this cause a conflict, and how did it affect your relationship, if at all?

There is a girl at work who is an aspiring rapper,

(she sucks, by the way, no talent at all.) When the girls and i go out for drinks and a chat on fridays, she is able to take ANY subject that were talking about, and twist it around to her being a rapper. Its like she will listen to the convo and pounce in when she gets a second to talk about her being an %26quot;artist%26quot;. I would think that is a kind of selective listening.

Hope this helps! If not at least i got to vent a little bit about how badly she SUCKS!

I used to work with a girl who was a horrible listener. I would be in the midst of telling her a story or something, and she'd literally just start staring out the window. I wasn't blathering nonstop or anything, or hogging the talking time; she just had little to no interest in being an active listener. It made me stop trying to engage her...
i was talking to him about our school work, but he was in a hurry so he said yeah and yeah even though it wasnt supposed to be answered like that. Then said he needed to call the teacher
