I need to write a essay about America from the 18th centruy to the mid 20th century, I need help with choosing a topic about something that ocurred during that time or a topic on something that changed throught out that time. please help with an outline of sort. good looks ^^

You could use African Slavery and Civil Rights, as they most closely tie with American Colonization, the Civil War and will bring you into the 1960's with the Civil Rights Movement.

How about the beginning of your nation as it were, the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution? Hmm... the Boston Tea Party rings a bell here.



How about the Federalist Papers which urged for the U.S. Constitution and ultimately resulted in the U.S. Constitution? (I.e. the Federalist Papers were successful in their purpose we could presume! Sorry, I'm Australian and I don't know much about U.S. history.)



They all originated in the 18th century.



For something that has changed, how about the U.S. Constitution and its amendments, i.e. how the amendments came about and how the Constitution was interpreted by the courts from its beginning until the mid 20th century?
